(VANGUARD)— A 10-year old girl (name withheld) has accused her 62-year-old step father, one Mr. Alabi Ibrahim, of habitually sleeping with her. Narrating her ordeal yesterday, the young girl said that she cannot count the number of times her stepfather has forcefully slept with her in their residence – Opara Estate, Aiyetoro Road, Abeokuta.
The man’s actions were revealed when the girl ignorantly shared her
experiences with her siblings. It was further learnt that the mother,
Mrs. Adiat Ibrahim, subsequently reported her husband’s immorality to
the police in Abeokuta. The suspect reportedly took off when detectives
went to interrogate him.
Narrating her ordeal, the victim claimed that each time her stepfather had slept with her, he threatened to kill her if she ever spoke about it. “Daddy always came to me when Mummy was not at home, and warned me not to tell anybody, so that I wouldn’t die,” the poor girl said.
When contacted, Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed the incident. He described the action of the man as barbaric, promising that the police will thoroughly investigate the matter towards possibly charging the suspect to court for defilement.
“The police totally condemn the act. He will not be spared. The man will be charged to court, after a thorough investigation,” Adejobi assured.
