water after a night of being battered by Hurricane Sandy.

storm, which swamped New York City’s subway system and submerged streets
in Manhattan’s financial district.
Hajj 2012: Death toll of Nigerian pilgrims rises to 21
The death toll of Nigerian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia has risen to 21 from 14, a week before the Hajj rites, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
NAN quotes the National Hajj Commission’s weekly public health
bulletin “No one’’ dated Oct. 29, which showed that the male pilgrims
had the highest mortality rate of 13.
The bulletin shows that Katsina State has the highest figure of four;
Sokoto, three, Kano, Lagos, Zamfara and Ogun recorded two deaths each.
Oyo, Gombe, Yobe and the Nigerian armed forces recorded one death each.
It also stated that 53 patients had been referred to Saudi hospitals
with 39 cases recorded in Medina, four in Jeddah and 10 in Mecca.
The bulletin states that 90 per cent of the patients had been discharged.
“So far, no single case of delivery has been reported, however, there
are two cases of spontaneous abortion reported from Misfallah Clinic in
Mecca by female pilgrims from Sokoto and Adamawa states, all mothers
are in satisfactory conditions,’’ it added.
The bulletin shows that 7,496 Nigerian pilgrims have so far visited
the six clinics being operated by the medical mission in Jeddah, Medina
and Mecca, with common cold and hypertension topping the list of cases
reported at the clinics.

A source close to the case was quoted by the Daily Mail as saying: “A
name has been offered… The photographer is expected to be held for
question[ing]… Imminently.”
French public prosecutor Marie-Christine Daubigney said: “This new
information regarding the photographer will be passed on to
investigating magistrates.”

High Standards
It’s great to have high standards. No woman should sell herself short
and then be stuck in a situation she regrets. But, there is such a
thing as having standards that are too high. What’s the difference, you
ask? Well, normal standards look like this: “I want him to respect me,
treat me right, and be honest and decent”. High standards look like
this: “He better drive a Lexus and have a job making six figures”. It’s
good to have expectations. But ultimately, whether or not he’s a high
earner isn’t going to bring you happiness or a stable relationship.
Also, don’t let your standards get in the way of a good guy. Sometimes
women will pass on a man, believing they can do better, only to settle
with a lesser someone years later. Always ask yourself if your standards
are realistic. And more importantly, ask if your standards will nab you
the man that will make you happy.
Governor Ajimobi’s wife arrested by Met Police in London with £400,000 in her possession
Junketing wife of the Oyo State governor, Chief (Mrs) Florence Ajimobi, has finally jumped into the net of London police authorities. Her offence: she was found in possession of Pound Sterling and United States Dollars totalling about N104million about two weeks ago.
Mrs Ajimobi was arrested by the Met Police during her 52nd trip
outside Nigeria in the last 17 months that her husband became the chief
executive of the Pace-Setter state. The development came barely a few
months after Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State was arrested also in
London on money laundering charges and was held for about 26 days in the
United Kingdom. Governor Abiola Ajimobi has equally been out of the
country for about 42 times on personal and official trips that have cost
the people of the state fortunes in estacode and denied them the
opportunity of a responsible government during times of sorrow, like the
August 26, 2011 flood disaster that ravaged the state.

When I read the story I was shocked. I don't know where it came from. Nothing of such happened to me or anybody I know. My marriage is not perfect but it's intact.
