Police arrest rapists, ritualist, in Ogun
The two suspects, Tosin Adebayo,25, and Opeyemi Adebayo, 19 were paraded along with three other accomplices who were said to have forcefully dragged the victim to a corner and had a carnal knowledge of her.
A suspected ritualist, Jimoh Olorunwa,34, was also paraded after being arrested at a cemetery in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State with a chunk of human flesh.
Bizarre and terrible: Maid caught having sex with a 1-year-old boy
The film showed the maid and the baby both naked as she sat on top of him, ignoring his cries because of pain.
Annoyed by his non-stop cries, the maid then beat the baby and placed a pillow on his face to stiffle his noise as she continued abusing him.
She was arrested in the capital.
The prosecutor accused the maid of raping the baby and endangering his life. When she was shown the film, she confessed to her crime.
Quoted by the semi-official daily Alittihad, a prosecution source said the maid faces up to 15 years in jail in line with the federal law meting out such punishment against crimes involving rape of people under 14 years.
“The UAE deals firmly with any thing that endangers children and harms them physically and psychologically..…under the law, the parents bear the responsibility to protect their children against such dangers,” the source said.
“The prosecution office is very much worried about the growing phenomenon of families relying heavily on maids to look after their children…the UAE law considers that parents leaving their child alone with a maid amounts to an act of endangering others’ life…this crime is punishable under law.”

Houses, offices, vehicles submerged in Lagos floods
Reports from across the state indicated that floods inundated parts of the state, causing heavy traffic and damage to property.
Many commuters and motorists were stranded on some roads within the state while some had to park on some highways, due to the poor visibility.
The situation was compounded by the lingering fuel scarcity and long queues at filling stations.
Many motorists parked their vehicles on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, to avoid running into flooded portions of the Long Bridge at Warewa.
Residents of rural aras of Lagos and Ogun states were also in a quandary, as dirt roads were covered in flood and mud.

SaharaReporters broke the news that Mrs. Jonathan was flown to a hospital in Wiesbaden, Germany close to a month ago to undergo emergency treatment after a botched procedure in Dubai.
In interviews with three sources familiar with Mrs. Jonathan’s health status, SaharaReporters learnt that the Nigerian president’s wife is beset by Parkinson’s disease, a degenerative syndrome. The disease is a progressive disorder of the nervous system. A medical source described it as “a fairly common disorder that occasions degeneration of the nervous system.” The source added that the disease leads to “progressive impairment and disorder of movement.” An online medical site notes that Parkinson’s “is characterized by progressive loss of muscle control, which leads to trembling of the limbs and head while at rest, stiffness, slowness, and impaired balance. As symptoms worsen, it may become difficult to walk, talk, and complete simple tasks.”
FG Gives the Saudi Arabian Government 24 Hours to Release over 750 Nigerian Female Pilgrims Detained for Travelling without a Male Relative
The Federal Government of Nigeria has given the Saudi Arabian
government 24 hours to resolve the issues surrounding the detention of
some Nigerian female pilgrims.
It was reported
that over 750 Nigerian female pilgrims in Saudi Arabia adjudged by the
authorities to be without male companion (Muharram) have been detained
in Jeddah and Madinah. Sahara Reporters put the figure of detained women at 1,000.
Some of the women who have been held
since Sunday were enroute to make the Muslim Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca.
Hundreds of the women were sleeping on the floor, did not have their
belongings and were sharing four toilets at the King Abdulaziz
International Airport in Jeddah.

expressed the country’s displeasure over the treatment being meted out
to Nigerian pilgrims performing this year’s pilgrimage in the holy land.
He said reports available to him suggested that only Nigerian pilgrims
were being subjected to such dehumanising treatment.

I left my iPad in an Arik Air flight and that was my fault. I will not excuse that negligence on the fact that flying just days after the Dana crash I was still gripped by its horror. What is not my fault though is the fact that when I returned for the iPad, the Arik Air staff in charge of “Lost & Found” left to check the aircraft and came back saying “they said they found it and put it in your bag.” My response was sharp and simple. How did they match an untagged iPad that was not checked in with a bag that was checked in and tagged? Who gave them the permission to open my bag for them to put the iPad? I asked to make a written complaint but the Arik Air staff, Lanre, said that by speaking to him my complaint process had been completed, that there was no need to write anything. That did not go down well with me. Some have focused on the first part of the issue about why I’d forget my iPad in a plane, they conveniently ignore the part about the Arik Air staff saying they found the iPad and put it in my bag. Someone have even questioned why I’d even forget my iPad in the first place. These are angels and aliens who have never forgotten a thing in their lives. I am human and I forget, not to mention the fact that in about 35 flights this year, that was a first.

Naira to exchange for N160 to Dollar by 2013
The Naira is expected to depreciate further in 2013 as government is basing its medium term expenditure on an exchange rate of N160 to the dollar next year and beyond.
According to government official exchange rate estimate for the just submitted medium term expenditure framework of the government, the Naira will be officially exchanged at N160 in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
In the revised 2012-2014 revenue and expenditure framework, the Federal Government had estimated that the Naira during the period will exchange at N150 in 2011, N155 in 2012 and N155 in 2014.

A middle-aged man identified as Oladimeji Fowowe has been arrested by the police at Iju police station Station Red House, Lagos, for allegedly setting his wife on fire, when he threw a burning stove and hot water on her.
The suspect, who trailed his wife to Ijoko in Ogun State, southwest Nigeria where she had gone to assist her husband’s younger brother’s wife who had just put to bed a set of twins, was alleged to have committed the crime when his wife returned to Iju area of Ishaga, Lagos State from Ijoko
One killed, three injured as gunmen invade University of Jos
Students who witnessed the random and senseless shooting pursued and killed one of the attackers while the other one was rescued by police before the students could also kill him. Police discovered a gun with three live cartridges with the surviving attacker.
The police is yet to say who the men were and why they shot at students of the school.

Here is how TMZ reported it on their website; Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina was involved in a scary car accident in Georgia — DESTROYING the entire front end of the vehicle .
The black 2012 Camaro belongs to Bobbi’s boyfriend Nick Gordon —
and according to sources close to Bobbi, Nick was driving Sunday night
in Alpharetta, GA … with Bobbi in the passenger seat … when the accident
happened.
The details surrounding the accident are unclear, but we’re told the
couple had been arguing at the time of the crash — and Nick’s Camaro was
the only car involved. No one was injured.
After the accident, the car was missing the front right tire, the
front bumper was torn off, and the airbags were deployed — but somehow
it got back to Bobbi and Nick’s apartment.
Cops went to the apartment soon after the accident for a noise complaint, but no one answered the door.
According to the incident report, officers saw the car parked
outside the apartment with its hazard lights on — and it appeared it had
been driven in a damaged state.
We’re told the accident is currently under investigation.
