A secondary school teacher, Mrs. Gloria Ayogu, said she would consider legal actions against Nollywood actor, Nkem Owoh, popularly known as Osuofia, if he failed to pay damages for allegedly demolishing her house in Enugu State.
Ayogu, a widow and an employee of Federal Government College, Enugu, has since 2008 been at war with Owoh over a piece of land at 9, Ikpeama Street, Emeheluaku Layout, Trans-Ekulu in Enugu metropolis.
The widow said she had long reported the case to the police and vowed to see the matter to the end.
She said her late husband bought and registered the landed property before he died in 2004.
“Osuofia and his thugs appeared in 2008 and threatened me for four years against building on the land.”
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Umar Manko yesterday said it is a criminal offence for members of vigilante groups to carry rifles. Manko’s reaction may not be unconnected with the killing of four undergraduate students of the University of Port Harcourt by suspected members of a vigilante group at the instance of their village head. The Lagos State police boss said vigilante groups are supposed to work with the police at the local level.
“They can arrest suspects and hand them over to the police whose responsibility it is to investigate and prosecute if the need arises. It is a criminal offence for members of the vigilante to carry guns,” he maintained.
Manko said anyone seen with a gun must have a valid license for it and such individual must have been duly screened by the appropriate authorities. “So it is a crime for one to have a privately licensed gun and in turn hand over same to vigilante group for security purposes,” he said.
Manko explained that if a vigilante member is arrested with a rifle issued to him by another person they will be arrested for illegal possession of fire arms. He noted that members of the vigilante are there to complement efforts of the police, not to usurp the responsibility of the police. It will be recalled that four undergraduate students of the University of Port Harcourt were gruesomely killed by suspected members of a vigilante group at Aluu community in Rivers State. The Inspector General of Police has vowed to fish out the killers, saying such barbaric act cannot be tolerated in any part of the country.

Osun state speaker, Najeem Salaam whose wife, Alhaja Muibat Salaam was kidnapped last tuesday in Ejigbo, October 9, has finally been rescued. I say rescue because there wasn’t any ransom paid. It was a lucky tip-off by a palm tapper that led to her release.
A family source said: “A palm wine tapper on top of a palm tree noticed the kidnappers, who were between 28 and 40 years old, with a lone woman in the back cabin of the trailer. He alerted a vigilance group and they accosted the kidnappers. An argument ensued and resulted in a gun battle between the kidnappers and members of the vigilance group.
“Two of the kidnappers were killed. Three were apprehended, but the rest escaped. Alhaja was rescued unhurt. A towing vehicle operator in the village phoned a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly and notified him of the development.
Over the weekend, a conversation between Davido, & Dr SID, and a few others (Kamal, Godfather & B-Red) leaked on the internet, and Dr SID went on record as saying Dbanj’s brand is over shadowing his shine. Full post here
Today Dr. SID decided to give his side of the story via his twitter page.
“I had a PRIVATE conversation with people I trusted (Kamal, Dbanjs’ associate Evil, Godfather, Davido, B-Red).I’m entitled to my opinion and its unfortunate that this happened. Sadly, someone chose to record this private conversation and release it to the public, However, this has taught me a valuable lesson on who to and not to speak with, but life must goes on.“
It’s a very interesting development. Since the split betweent Don Jazzy & Dbanj, a lot of stories have been floating around as to why the break up happened. This might be some insight.
Greetings. I hear you have found a lovely woman you wish to spend the rest of your life with. I hear she is Igbo. Congratulations. Before you go ahead, however, please permit me to say a few things concerning marrying an Igbo woman. I know unsolicited advice is as unwanted as armpit boils, but do spare me a second or two; this is important. See, I know you think the bride price you’ve been told to pay and the long list of traditional marriage items are your biggest issues…trust me, they are nothing compared with what you will face after the ceremonies have been completed and every member of her village has gone home with his/her share of the booty for which you mortgaged your father’s properties.
Now, take note of the following, dear friend:
1. Forget Authority: If you were marrying a Yoruba woman, she would have come to your house with her mother’s voice ringing in her ears that a husband’s house is a place where life’s lessons are learnt. It’s a different story for the Igbo woman. She comes from a long line of ‘unruly’ people who traditionally have no concept of a central authority figure. Prepare to be stared down eyeball to eyeball in an argument. Prepare to be laughed at when you attempt to assert yourself as the ‘man of the house.’ When she’s done laughing, she’ll measure you, up and down with her left, and sneer: ‘Hian! See this one o; who do you think you’re talking to?’ She’ll clap and shake her head, then she’ll add something in Igbo and then saunter away, wriggling her backside. It isn’t for nothing that the legendary Aba Womens’ Riot happened in…ABA.
Tiwa Savage is one of Nigeria’s most talented singers and songwriters.
That she is beautiful is no news. She is an embodiment of sexiness and has a captivating aura and personality.
Until recently Tiwa Savage had not been linked romantically with anyone, except if you count the rumoured-but -vehemently-denied relationship with Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy.
Is that is about to change?
What’s She Up to Lately?, Hanging on set with American entertainers, rocking a stylish new do and recording songs for her upcoming album, wow, Munachi is definitely one to watch in 2012.
Ever since her triumphant victory as the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria in 2007, 25 year old Munachi Abii has been one to watch. Be it on the red carpet or at social gatherings, where she dons some beautiful creations or on the radio, where the beauty queen turned rapper’s singles are enjoying massive air play.
Wonder what she’s up to lately?
When I was in my early 20’s I went out with three guys at the same time. Yes I had fun, and yes there was one that I always gave me a sense of fulfillment after we talked, because he was just so smart. We could talk for hours about the meaning of life, and I would leave the conversation inspired to be a better person. There was another one who would financially support any kind of date imaginable. We would go to places and spend hundreds of dollars, and in general we always had fun. Then there was the one who knew where to go to have fun, and was always available whenever I was bored or had a disagreement with one of the other two.

2012 has been a very busy year for the entertainment industry in Nigeria.
There’s been a lot of power play, signings, international collaborations and much more, but the famed Mo’hits Records break up is, without a doubt, the height of everything that has happened in Nigerian entertainment this year.
With a series of stories and scandals about former label mates D’banj and Don Jazzy parting ways, to more stories on the true and actual nature of their split, to the formation of individual labels, it was, to say the least, not a pleasant scenario.
But when will all this drama end? Not yet, it seems; another episode is unfolding, as Sidney ‘Dr SID’ Esiri, former Mo’Hits act, and now a MAVIN Records artiste, can’t seem to get over the brouhaha.
Dr SID plays the lead star in this episode; a recorded audio piece which leaked exclusively to NET, has thrown him into the spotlight for the wrong reasons, hinting at him being a very strong reason behind the Mo’Hits breakup.
Still aggrieved over the sudden death of their daughter, Lucy Ukpong, who was hit by police stray bullet in Abuja, the parents of the 20-year old girl set to visit the Federal Capital Territory Police Command today to seek for justice over the death of Lucy.
The Ukpongs trip from their abode in Akwa-Ibom State to Abuja was to demand proper justice and ascertain what the police authorities are doing to bring their daughter’s killers to book.
It’s 2012! And the year wont end unless I bring y’all, the Jaguda.com faithfuls, another list of the the 10 hottest babes in entertainment. Every year we see a lot of hot babes in the Nigerian entertainment industry – some of them veterans that have been staying fine for years and years, and some others are new fresh faces that just caught everyone’s eye in the past 12 months. And yes, some old school peeps that have upgraded and gotten back into people’s hot list.
So this year, as opposed to last year, I decided to run a mini survey among friends and well wishers (mostly men) to find out who they thought were the hottest babes in entertainment. Needless to say most of the names I got were not too far off from my own personal list, so it safe to say that on a general scale, it’s hard to argue that any of these girls are not hot.
Let’s get to it.
Update on Farouk Lawan & Femi Otedola $620,000 Bribery Scandal – IG of Police Receives Video Tape of Bribery Transaction
For some weeks now, news about the investigations into the alleged $620,000 bribery scandal involving Farouk Lawan, Chairman of the fuel subsidy probe panel in the House of Representatives and oil marketer, Femi Otedola has waned down.
However, a recent development has noted that the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, has received the much talked about video tape of the alleged bribery transaction.
When Femi Otedola initially made news of the alleged bribery scandal public, he claimed he had a video to back it up. Mr Otedola said the video shows Mr Lawan collecting the $620,000 bribe from him.
Vanguard reports that the Inspector General of Police has now received the tape from the State Security Service, SSS, and commenced further investigation of the scandal. This is sequel to the directive by the Attorney-General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke, that the report submitted by the Police Special Task Force probing the $620,000 subsidy bribe scandal, be re-investigated and grey areas cleared.
