Report: Rivers State commissioner for power, 3 others kidnapped

The commissioner for power in Rivers State, Augustine Wokocha, has been reportedly abducted by gunmen during the weekend.
Wokocha was according to reports abducted along Ahoada-Omoku Road while returning from Ahoada Town about 40km from the state capital, Port Harcourt.
Kidnapped alongside the commissioner were the librarian of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Omoku in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area; R. F. Quadri, and the FCE’s director of academic planning and statistics, Richard Ihua Maduenyi.
According to family sources, the kidnappers are yet to demand any ransom for his release and the state police command has been put on alert to ensure the commissioner’s safe return.
This latest kidnapping incident caught the state’s security apparatus by surprise owing to the fact that such incidents have been drastically reduced in the past few months.
