When Genevieve Nnaji was unveiled as the ambassador of the new brand of the Range Rover car, Evoque,
fans of the petite actress expressed their delight, especially because
she was the first Nigerian to be in that position, which the likes of
Victoria Beckham and other stars have enjoyed.
It was said that along with her position as ambassador, she would be given a sum of $100,000 and a brand new Evoque.
However, news making the rounds recently claim that the 33-year-old mother of one may be returning the car.
According to reports, the actress was presented with two options by Coscharis Motors,
Nigerian representatives of the Range Rover brand. One of the options
offered a sum of $100,000 and a brand new Evoque car to own for six
months, while the other offered a sum of $50,000 and a brand new Evoque
to be permanently hers, the car being worth over N10 million. The
actress reportedly opted for the former, which is why she may be
returning the car soon.
As at press time, neither party has responded to emails sent to verify the facts.
Nnaji was on Thursday, June 14, 2012, unveiled as the Evoque ambassador after much media speculation. ‘It’s
truly an honor to be working with the Land Rover family on this
exciting project. The Range Rover brand is the epitome of quality and
luxury; the Evoque represents power, class and style. I cannot wait to
drive it!’ she was quoted to have said shortly after the unveiling.
