Wife
of the Osun State house of Assembly Speaker, Hon.Najeem Salaam has been
kidnapped yesterday at Ejigbo, Osun State by some unknown gunmen.
She was abducted along Union Baptist Road in the Oke-Oyo area of
Ejigbo, the Speaker’s hometown on her way home after closing her shop
where she sells bags of food items.
Muibat’s Honda salon car was said to be forced to a halt and she was
dragged into a waiting car before the unknown gunmen numbering about
six drove off with speed.
Responding to this development, Mr Femi Fafiyebi,Chairman, Osun State
House Committee on Regional Integration and Special Duties, confirmed
this saying the news was “disheartening and shocking”.
He said,“I just heard about it a few minutes ago. Osun is a very
peaceful state. We are the only state that checked flooding and created
the most enabling environment in the south-west. I don’t know why this
should happen in our dear state”.
We were not able to get across to the Police Public Relations
Officer, Osun Command, Sade Odoro to confirm and comment on the
abduction as her phones were switched off.
