JTF exposes Boko Haram’s plan to carry out “massive attacks” this Sallah

The Joint Military Task Force (JTF) has raised alarm over the plan of the radical Islamist sect -Boko Haram to massively attack some parts of the  turbulent Northern states during this year’s Eid-el-kabir celebration, which holds on Thursday and Friday.
According to JTF, the dreaded group  had been receiving back-ups from foreign militants to make the celebration bloody.
In a statement, the  JTF  spokesman, Lt.-Col. Sagir Musa, disclosed that  their attacks have been designed to hit worship centres and other public places.
The statement reads in part, “Information available to the Joint Task Force indicates that the Boko Haram terrorists are planning to launch massive attacks on military and civilian targets in Borno State before, during and after the forthcoming Sallah celebrations. “The terrorists have invited foreign militant groups to assist them in the anticipated attacks.
“We know where they are coming from but we don’t want to disclose that because we don’t want to pre-empt our security arrangement to tackle them.”
Since the red alert, there have been palpable fears and panic in the volatile region. Some Muslim faithful in states such as: Borno, Kano, Yobe, Bauchi and Kaduna may celebrate the festival indoors.
It would be recalled that the group had orchestrated several attacks leading to the death of many Nigerians in the North.
Several attempts by the group and the Federal government to hold a peace talk have been fruitless.
