Wayne and Coleen Rooney have said they are “thrilled” to be expecting their second child.
The 26-year-old revealed the news on Twitter, telling her 840,000
followers the baby is due in May. The couple already have a son, Kai,
who was born in November 2009.
Coleen tweeted: “A few people guessed, so news is out ha!! Me wayne
and Kai are thrilled that we are expecting a new addition to our family
around May time x.”
She followed the message with a second one, saying: “Its still only
early but bursting with excitement! Also wanted the news to come from
us, before anyone else! ??.”
Her Manchester United and England striker husband has previously
spoken about how fatherhood gave him a bigger kick than his football
career.
Rooney has described becoming a father as the “proudest moment of my life”.
He and Coleen were childhood sweethearts and got married in a lavish ceremony in June 2008 when they were both aged 22.
Coleen’s work has included writing her own column in Closer and OK!
magazines, presenting a TV show with Sir Trevor McDonald and making her
own series for ITV called Coleen’s Real Women.
