Cristiano Ronaldo voted ‘Sexiest Player of the Year’

 

Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, was named “The Sexiest Player of the Year” of People magazine and he was the only football player in the top ten.

After all the not so cheering incidence that has been happening to CR7 lately in the game of football, his Club, Real Madrid are eight points behind the table leaders Barcelona, their old rival, on the scoreboard of La Liga and the Portuguese national team got a draw with Gabon in friendly match this week. To make matters worse, Cristiano Ronaldo got an injury in eyebrow bone after an horrible clash with Levante Defender in last league game and he had been suspended to receive treatment for the present.

Omawumi talks about her daughter, ‘kokoma’ and ‘bottom belle’

In prelude to the release of her forthcoming single – Stay Alive, Omawumi had a chat with Seun Apara where she spoke about sundry issues and the meaning of words and phrases off her most recent single.

Basically, the word ‘Kokoma’, what does it mean?

I came back from America with my daughter when she was about two and half months or three months. My mum was with me for about four months to take care of the baby. When my mum was with me, I used to sing ‘Omawumi’s baby, Grandma Warri’s baby, Grandma Lekki’s baby’, and so on. Kokoma is like a drum beat or dance style of highlife that could be related to Ghanaian highlife in the 60′s or 70′s. When my mum cooks, that’s what they sing- ‘kokoma, I stand by, Adebisi Konga’.

Why we want a total removal of fuel subsidy – President Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday launched a fresh campaign for total removal of fuel subsidy.

This is coming barely a year after the president launched a similar campaign and forcefully removed subsidy with the price of petroleum product skyrocketing by more than 120 percent.

According to Jonathan, the total removal of subsidy on petroleum products would attract investors to the oil sector and put an end to the importation of petroleum products as it is currently being done.

His Excellency started the fresh campaign for a total removal of subsidy while receiving the report of the graduating participants of the Senior Executive Course 34, 2012, of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, near Jos, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The Miss Big World Nigeria pageant that took place last Saturday November 10th. 25yr old Olufemi Adu Felicia, a graduate of mass communication (pictured above left) was crowned the winner, while 27 year old  Emmanuella Egoigbo, (pictured above right) a graduate of law was first runner up. 19year old Chinaza Chimalu, a 400 level student of psychology at the University of Benin was 2nd runner up.
