The Presidency yesterday insisted that there was an ongoing dialogue with the Islamist sect, Boko Haram, while assuring Nigerians of good results, he also pleads  for their support.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, revealed to news men that,those who thought such dialogue involved face to face meeting in which government officials and members of the Boko Haram sect sit on opposite sides of a table missed the point in such a delicate issue.

Hehehe don’t be happy yet: Electricity to drop by 300MW after rainy season

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission has said power generation will drop by 300 megawatts after rainy season and this will partly cancel the improvement in electricity supply experienced recently in some parts of the country.

Leading opposition party, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has called on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to rescind its decision of introducing a N5,000 note, stressing  that of issuance of the new currency note also runs counter to the government’s often repeated commitment to fight corruption.

The party  in a statement in Lagos on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed urged CBN to act fast before it is too late.
It said: “The unintended consequences and collateral damage of introducing the N5,000 may far outweigh the benefits of the new measure,” it said.
It further maintained that there is strong historical evidence that the introduction of higher face value currency notes in an economy often signifies a regime of increased and sustained fiscal deficit financing.
